Momma's Little Helper

Although we decided to cancel our superbowl party, I still wanted to make something superbowlish for the boys to enjoy while we lounged on the couch. Unfortunately, my stomach couldn't handle looking at my beloved guacamole dip and meatballs completely grossed me out, so cookies it was.

With the little guy begging to help, I plopped him onto the countertop (I know.... totally not safe), and decided my ginger/molasses cookies would be easiest to make. These things bake in 9-10 minutes and are super soft and yummy!

I let Drew dump each of the ingredients in and even do a little of the stirring.

Who  knew that dumping cinnamon and ginger into a bowl would lead to a squeal of delight followed by clapping and repeating of the word 'more' 72 times.

My little helper did so well and listened to instructions perfectly. But the best part was when it was time to eat the cookies and Derek said "ok go sit on the couch and you'll get a football cookie". I'm pretty sure he ran at a speed of 20mph while yelling "football cookie football cookie" all the way into the living room. Apparently someone has a fondness for cookies.

And while we're on the subject of the superbowl, I had to post my favorite commercial. Get you kleenex out if you missed it!
