Heard of it? If not, Google it and you'll soon get an idea of the state we've been in this house since Sunday.
Drew apparently picked it up last weekend and had a VERY violent throw-up episode Sunday night starting the cycle. Mon-Wed he had horrible dirty diapers, minimal overnight wet diapers (dehydration is scary!) and was pretty lethargic a couple of those days.Thankfully, we kept sticking fluids and food down him and he was back at 100% by Thursday evening.
And then yesterday, I woke up at 5am with that saliva-in-the-mouth-gonna-puke horrid feeling and ran to the bathroom where I began a 3 hour relationship with Timmy the Toilet. With everything emptied out, I was miserable with debilitating stomach cramps and couldn't keep a bite of anything down. Fortunately, after my nap yesterday , I felt around 21% compared to the 9% I felt beforehand.
Today is a much better day feeling at around 55%. I can eat a cracker here and there and am just pretty weak. We were hosting a small Superbowl get-together tomorrow evening but figured people wouldn't want to be in our germ-filled house and eating food that we prepared. That, and I just don't have the energy to clean the house and cook a ton of appetizers. This sickness just zaps every ounce of energy... but on the positive side I've lost 3 pounds!
Anyone else get this disgusting stomach bug?

Ugh, that is awful! Feel better soon. Fortunately *knock on wood* we don't have it in my household.... yet.
ReplyDeleteI have heard about it. It was on the news a few nights ago. AHHHHH I dislike stomach bugs!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I might jinx myself just posting on your blog, but we've had a very healthy winter so far. I hope you get back to 100% soon!
ReplyDeleteI wound up taking Wyatt to the ER today since we are in day 4 of whatever this is and he wasn't any better, plus he was crying inconsolably for over two hours!! So sad! Luckily they said it was not the flu and just a nasty virus and hes probably at the peak today. I am do sorry to hear you and Drew had to go through that!!! But I'm glad you both are on the upswing. Take care mama!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! :( I hope everyone gets better. My sister and her family have been passing it back and forth. It's awful.
ReplyDeleteAwful!!! I think that is the same thing my husband had right after Christmas. He was MISERABLE. Thanks for stopping by my blog....I'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! I have dealt with enough sickness in my house. I really hope that one stays away!
ReplyDeleteYikes! That hasn't hit us (yet) thankfully. We're sending lots of well wishes your way so everyone in your house is back to 100% soon!

ReplyDeleteEwww! You poor thing! I hope it passes quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! How awful. We've been suffering here from a virus/cold and upper respiratory infection for the last few weeks. No matter how hard we try, it just never seems to want to go away. My little boy was out of preschool all last week, and there's still no signs of improvement yet. Please get well soon...I can't wait until the flu and cold season ends!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! That is the worst virus EVER! We had it two weeks ago... all four of us then three people who stayed at our house a week later got it as well :( It's a mean and nasty virus.
ReplyDeleteGet better :)
we had this over Thanksgiving. We basically cancel Thanksgiving and moved it to Sunday because everyone felt so bad. I hope you get to feeling better soon. And good luck I hope you don't have the headache that I got after mine ended.
ReplyDeleteUgh, yes. It is SO hard to try and parent effectively while feeling like you might just collapse. Our house got this on New Year's Eve:(. Hope you feel better VERY soon!
ReplyDeleteAh, I hope you all feel better soon! I've had that a couple of times and was always told it was a daycare thing, but regardless, it's no fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you are all feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry y'all have been sick! Thanks for your sweet comment on Harper's nursery -- you need to attach your email to your profile so I can email back when you comment! I'd love to keep you updated on the glider, we've got a similar one in Hadley's room that I really like, too!
ReplyDeleteUgh - poor thing. Our house has been sick for weeks now. Vomiting, headaches, cramping, fevers. It's been hell. I can totally commiserate with you.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon.
Oh no, that SUCKS! But can I tell you how much that picture made me laugh? Hopefully that's not bad karma or something ;) Happy to be following your blog now, hope you all feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that last image made my husband and I laugh out loud. Norovirus has struck hard here in our community in Sicily, but I think it's passed our house by. For now, anyway! Glad you guys are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we had it. It hit my 8 year old first IN the car, then my 6 year old a few hours later, then me. At one point, my daughter and I were throwing up in the same toilet at the same time. Horrible!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better!
